Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Track and Field Sierra Vista Weekday


The Sierra Vista Weekday was a success for Durango’s Track and Field team. Due to high winds, none of the runners had gotten close to their best times, but Durango’s distance runners still swept the 1600m, the mile, by placing top 3. Peter Germa,12, went first 4:59.10 which qualified him for regionals followed by Dagim Seme,11, and William McMahon,10.

The hurdlers scored several points. Although she is just a freshman, Ajanae Cressey,09, is exceeding expectations and leading Durango’s hurdlers. She won the 300m hurdles. Followed by placing 2nd in the 100m hurdles.

Jumpers had several people stand out. Starting the spring season right, Ka’ron Shomo, 12, placed 1st overall in the long jump during the Sierra Vista Weekday. Meanwhile, in the triple jump Michael Haywood, 10, took 1st.
