Track and Field Sierra Vista Weekday

The Sierra Vista Weekday was a success for Durango’s Track and Field team. Due to high winds, none of the runners had gotten close to their best times, but Durango’s distance runners still swept the 1600m, the mile, by placing top 3. Track Regionals Day 2

On the second day of the regional finals Durango High School saw plenty of ‘placers’.  For the Women, the 4 x 200 Relay team finished 8th (Bellender, Rich-Monard, Yotter, Nunez) and the 4 x 400 Relay team finished 7th (Bellender, Packer, Loring, and Nunez) For the Men, the 4 x 200 Relay team finished 4th

Bisacky Sets School Mark

  Frankie Bisacky started out the Regional Track Meet in flying colors.  He obliterated the school record in the 3200m in route to qualifying for State with a time of 9:37.87 besting the old record of 9:55.7.  With is qualifying time he also ensured a spot in the 1600m in Reno in two weeks.  Great

SKYHAWK INVITATIONAL: Gourrier guides Centennial girls to team title The DHS Track team entered the 35 team Skyhawk invitational this past weekend.  The meet featured 1500 athletes from around the world.  The Blazer women did not score a point but they did gain some Regional Qualifiers.  Top performances were Deszi Bellender, 40th in the 100m

Johnson Scores 4 – 1st Places

The Blazer’s Men’s Team revailed Wednesday on the track.  They were led by a strong performance from Jayson Johnson.  He FOUR first place finish (100m, 200m, 400m, 4x400m Relay).  Also having a strong day was Justise Stroy (2nd – 100m, 200m, 1st – 4x400m Relay).  Frainkie Bisacky was first in 1600m  and 2nd in 800m. 

Track Finishes 7th

With prom later in the day, only a small contingent of men participated at The Valley Relays on Saturday.  Those participating did will for themselves.  Leading the Blazers were two second place finishes by the 4 x 800 relay team of Grema, Shaffer, Bisacky, and E. Mayfield and the 4 x 400 team of Smith,

    Girls Scores Gorman 141 Durango 68 Calvary 15 Quest 0 Boys Scores Gorman 121.5 Durango 114.5 Calvary 9 Quest 0 The Blazer men were led by 3 placers in the 100m (Austin, Stroy, Lansangun) and 3 placers in the 200m (Johnson, Lansangun, Smith).  1st places were also garnered by Shaffer (800m), Mayfield (1600m)
